Common WebMail Questions

What is WebMail?

WebMail is a powerful online email program that gives you the ability to access your email from anywhere in the world.

The most important thing to know is that there is only one email system, and two different ways to access it.

You can always check your email on your home computer using an email program (such as Outlook Express). Alternatively, WebMail allows you to access your email when you're away from home. Whether you're connected at work, on vacation, or anywhere else, your email address is always the same and your account is always accessible.

Please understand that a dedicated email program like Outlook/Outlook Express is still the best way to read and write your email. Programs like Outlook Express are faster, fully featured, and have practically unlimited storage capabilities. Unlike WebMail, you can use an email program to read and write your email without being connected to the Internet.

WebMail is offered as a convenience so that you can send and receive mail when you are away from home. This way, you never have to worry about losing or missing any new messages.

There's no additional cost to use WebMail. The service is offered free to all our customers.

Can I still use my regular email software?

Definitely. In fact, we recommend it.

When you use WebMail you are literally reading your email messages directly off the email server. Over time, these messages start to accumulate. When you use a program like Outlook, you download the messages from the same server, which can help to keep the servers from becoming bloated.

Do I have to be connected to use WebMail?

Yes, you must be connected to the Internet to even access the WebMail login screen. WebMail is, as it sounds, completely web-based.

Will I still download my messages after reading them first in WebMail?

Any messages in your WebMail inbox will remain on the server until you either download them, using your regular email program, or delete them from the server.

Please Remember:

If you delete any messages from your WebMail inbox or place them in a WebMail folder other than the Inbox, they will not download to your regular email program.
