HelpCenterFilteringBlocked SitesWhen access is attempted to a site which is designated as inappropriate according to your profile's filtering criteria, the block window will be displayed. The site request will not be transmitted, and no harmful material will reach your computer. The exact URL which has been blocked can be viewed in the Blocked Site Details. If you are using an Internet browser such as Internet Explorer or Netscape, you may notice an error message on the page after you close the blocked window. This indicates that the browser could not reach the site. The reason for this is that the transmission is blocked. Since the filtering works with all browsers and Internet programs, the program may report an error getting to the site. This is normal. Blocked Site DetailsYou will receive a blocked message, even though the page is not "blocked". This is because the URL was not found in our filter, but one or more images on the page were. To determine the exact URL of the request that was denied, click the Details button. This will expand the block screen to display the URL of the blocked site. The Blocked Site Details Window has three components:1. The Blocked Site AddressThe first line of the details section specifies the exact URL or application name which caused the block. If the URL in the details windows is different form the URL in the address bar of your browser. Then the site is being blocked because of the images on the page, rather than the page itself. If the URL in the Details box matches the URL in your web browser, and yet the site continues to load. This is most likely because the site and/or images for the site are already in your browsers cache from a previous visit, possibly by a different filtering profile. If this happens, simply delete your Temporary Internet files. 2. Categories For Which The Site Was BlockedThis refers to the category or categories that caused this site to be blocked for the current profile. 3. The Site Review OptionYou may easily request a site review by simply checking the box next to Request Site Review , and clicking Ok. You will receive a notice informing you that the submission has been received. Please allow up to 2 business days for your submission to be reviewed, and to take effect for your profile. Please also note that you account and profile information are sent with this request to discourage frivolous requests. |
